The use of solar water heating technologies can curtail electricity/fuel bills considerably and ensure reliable hot water supply. Solar water heating systems use the sun’s heat energy rather than electricity or gas to heat water. Operating at Solar Factors of above 80% in South Africa, these technologies can efficiently serve hot water needs – with no fuel cost or pollution and with minimal operation and maintenance (O&M) expense.
Tackling extreme hard water, in domestic settings, for hot water security and cost savings can be achieved through implementing the correct technology. Testing of customised Indirect Solar Water heating solutions is currently underway through a SANEDI Pilot and Demonstration project in Northern Limpopo Province. This technology is showing a 3x longer lifetime than conventional electrical resistance geysers under same conditions, showing significant savings on hardware and electricity costs in domestic settings.
Our webinar will look at different scales and types of solar water heating technologies in situ and give real life appraisals of return on investment and operational efficiency, join us to see how the Sun Works for you!
